February 2015 update
I gave students the option this semester of using the textbook or of using the readings I have posted links to on Moodle. Some are using the book, others are using the posts, and some are using both. As I work through the semester, I am finding the places in the syllabus and in assignment instructions which need to be changed to support not using a textbook. I am considering making the option available in the future for students to either use or not use the textbook (at least until the textbook company changes editions) as some students prefer the textbook to either reading material on line or printing it and having lots of paper. The readings are the same either way.

Progress

I have web links to all of the reading material I require students to read for Introduction to Philosophy. I have links to youtube videos that I use in class and that they can view on their own. I have one student who taking the class using the online material now and will expand this in the spring. I need to find out of what I have online is compliant for people with disabilities.

09-17-14

I spent some time over the summer looking for material online for the Introduction to Philosophy class. Most of the articles I have students read out of the main textbook are actually available online. There are also some good youtube clips available. I think I could probably go without the main textbook fairly easily. My main concern would be with being accessible to all students with the online material, especially the youtube stuff.
